3 Year Anniversary.

So...we've been married for 3 years today (well, now it's "today".  Blogger still thinks it's the 7th, but we got married on the 8th).  Three anniversaries I have spent with my wonderful hubby, and two of them, I have been pregnant.  Let's hope this is not a pattern.

Since last year our anniversary was pretty low-key (Red Robin for lunch and shopping at Target in Grand Junction), but still wanting to not spend a whole lot of money, we opted for the dinner/cruise at Canyonlands by Night and Day here in Moab.  So fun!

We started out having a cowboy-style dinner (dutch oven yumminess) and took the Lights and Sounds cruise afterward, heading up the river and learning about some of the fun/interesting parts of the history of the area.  Our "captain" was a pretty good-natured guy...he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his job, which definitely made the excursion more exciting.

Also corny.

Regardless, it was fantastic to be able to spend some time alone with my love.  Sure, Dax is great and all....but it's probably only the third date Robbie and I have had without him in all his two years of life.

Some pics of the scenery.  This particular cruise discourages photography (also it's too dark to do much good anyway) so these are some pics from the website.

Unfortunately, for us the skies weren't nearly this clear.  It rained for about an hour before and all during dinner, and was overcast the whole ride.  Still fun....and definitely more refreshing.  We actually wore jackets for the first time since February or so.
Yeah...our sunset wasn't nearly this rad.  But it just goes to show the incredible beauty of where we live.  This place is awesome!
...And back to the "base".   For those of you who haven't done this particular attraction (which is most, and quite possibly ALL of you), we'd recommend it.

...and we know of a place you could stay should you choose to come visit!

Belated Anniversary Post

Ok, so it's what? Mid-September? Yeah, well, our anniversary was on August 8. I'm a bit late, but ON PURPOSE! I selfishly wanted to wait to post about my anniversary with photos of the gifts.

We spent all day on our anniversary in Grand Junction, Colorado. We did some shopping, and went to lunch and dinner. It was pretty low-key, but a good one nonetheless.

Unfortunately, I had left Robbie's gift in Centerville the week before, so his came about a week late when we went back to get all our things packed for the final move.
Robbie's gift was a Nixon Player Watch. He's a bit of a watch-snob (his words)! It has a small diamond on the face....to make up for all the diamonds he has given me. :) I love diamonds....you could say it runs in the family.

So.....Robbie surprised me with a right-hand ring that he had custom made for me. He had been waiting for the time when we could get it, and after more than a year, decided this new job would do it. Hooray! I finally got to pick it up last weekend on my way back home. I LOVE it!

What I watched on my drive home. Well, in between watching the road. Can you blame me?

A closer, more detailed view of the ring. And just for good measure! One of our sweet son.
I can't even begin to describe the love I have for my husband. I feel so blessed that he is in my life. He treats me far and away better than any person I ever dated, and I can see in his eyes that he is sincere. He is fantastic and wonderful, and is a fantastic daddy to our little squirt of a son.

I love you, baby!!!!

Lots of Things

This past weekend was pretty full of stuff.  Thursday night, some of my friends threw me a baby shower.  It was SO fun to see everyone there.  I loved it!  Baby Dax got some pretty impressive items as well.

Friday was our first anniversary!  Gotta love being 8 months pregnant at one year...leave it to a "Hansen"--we (my mom and sisters and I) have all been pregnant within the first 6 months of marriage. Whew!  It was great to be able to spend the entire day with my wonderful husband.  We slept in, ate lunch, went and saw a matinee of The Dark Knight, had dinner at Hamilton's (Robbie tried the duck...not bad!), and spent the night at Providence Inn, which we would both HIGHLY recommend.   Leave it to me to watch TLC's "What Not To Wear" all night long.  Don't judge me.

We woke up the next morning and went down to the Bountiful Temple to do sealings before we remembered that they won't allow pregnant women to do all that kneeling, so we opted to do initiatories instead.  It had been a few years since either one of us had done them, so it was a good reminder and a great experience.

While I was waiting for Robbie to finish, I watched as all the newly-married couples came out to meet their respective families and saw Elder Russell M. Nelson exit the temple.  It's amazing how much the Spirit can witness in such a short moment.  I am so grateful to have a testimony of the gospel!  There is nothing quite like the moments where the Spirit whispers that everything you've been praying about is true and real.

Leaving the temple, we headed to Robbie's parents' house for the Allred/Singleton Baby Shower.  Dax has really cleaned up on this gift thing.  People have been so generous and wonderful and supportive of our little family.  Thank you all!  What a great blessing!

Saturday afternoon, Robbie, Kathy, Sara (Robbie's mom and sister), and I went down to the Salt Lake Parade of Homes.  There's this really great $4.5 million home we are saving up for....  You should have seen the four of us limping around (Robbie and his mom both have bum knees, Sara had hurt her back, and I am, well, I'm 8 months pregnant, so mine was more like a waddle, but whatever).

It was a good weekend, but we are glad to be home so that we can get our house clean before this little guy comes!
