Proof We Went to Robbie's Work Party

Despite inhaling lots of cigarette smoke, the food was actually pretty good, 

and I got to meet Robbie's co-workers.  

Plus, everyone should attend a picnic of some sort on the 24th of July, right?

Did I mention how many of his superiors commented on what a good employee he is?  

He's had QUITE a few people within Energy Solutions tell him that he has a "bright future" 

and that he has the potential to "move up quickly" if he wants to stick with ES 

or the Department of Energy.  Both of which, we aren't sure yet.  

But I'm glad to know other people notice what a great guy and hard worker I married!  

I love you, baby!

DONE AND DONE!

Today marks the end of two eras: I am officially done with work to be a stay-at-home mom, and Robbie is officially done with his bachelor's degree! We are so excited. Maybe one day, Robbie will post some pictures of the things he photographs with his new graduation gift: a Nikon D80. He's pretty stoked.

It's a No-Go.

Unfortunately, the job is a no-go. If anyone hears of any positions in Salt Lake area, let us know! Robbie is graduating in Psychology with desires to continue in Sport Psychology. Anything in research or psychology should help him to get into grad school, as well as provide a good job in the mean time, but I'm pretty sure he's open to a lot of other options as well. He's a Safety Coordinator (OSHA compliance, EMT) currently.

Wishin,' and hopin,' and thinkin,' and prayin'....

All week we have been waiting to hear back from Radiant Research, in hopes that Robbie has landed this job we have both felt so good about. Our lives have been somewhat up in the air as we have tried to figure out what we will do if he gets it, while at the same time trying to go about our lives as usual. It's not my favorite.

All this thought about leaving Logan and moving back down to Salt Lake gets me really excited. Anyone who knows me well knows that I was against coming back up to Logan after I returned from my mission over a year ago. Logan never held any special appeal to me in my life, and the year I spent up here prior to leaving to serve was less than desirable. Thank heavens for a loving and supportive husband that has done everything in his power to make it all worth it! I am so grateful for a man in my life that has not only loved me despite my millions of shortcomings, but has cared for me even when I didn't care for myself.

Thank you, Robbie for making Logan a place I will miss. Because it is where I got to be with you. I love you.

Pixy Stix

Once upon a time, I had a job where we went to an appreciation dinner/training and they supplied us with items for us to dress like fairies for the evening. With the group I was in, they were largely unsuccessful. Regardless, as centerpieces on the table, they had placed magic wands (giant pixy stix with a gold star on the end) for each "fairy" to take home. Being as pixy stix are made of sugar, you'd better believe I took one!

Just now, I cut open the end and very nearly inhaled the entire stick of flavored sugar in under 2 minutes. All my nutrition professors would be displeased, but give it a few minutes, and we'll see if Dax likes sugar!

Robbie's New Hours

I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of having a husband that works a late swing shift. This week his hours became even later since Icon changed the shifts to be four-tens. This means that he works from 5:00 until almost 3:00 am Monday through Thursday, while I have been working 9:00 am until 6:00 pm on weekdays...not extremely conducive for spending time together. The good news is, he shouldn't have to work any hours on a Friday for a long time! It's worth it, right? I sure hope so!

Though it's been a tough adjustment, I am so grateful that he is able to work and that his job has been so great to him. What a blessing to have a husband that is willing to run himself ragged for his wife. I just wish he didn't have to!

Robbie at Work

Robbie is really funny at work.  Sometimes, when he gets bored, he throws pens into a cup across the hallway.  One day, he decided to videotape himself doing just that.  Unfortunately, the skill level is not quite as high while holding a camera as it is merely concentrating on the pen/cup.  Anyway...this video is really funny to me.  Enjoy!

Thai Swordfish and Handsoap

Tonight was the Best Friends Child Development Center Christmas Party held at Hamilton's in Logan. It was A-mazing. We were allowed to choose anything on the menu under $30, but I'm certain that we would have been allowed the lobster if we had really wanted it. I chose Thai Swordfish over rice noodles. Wow. It was delicious. It was really funny to see the waiters and all of my coworkers go into a tailspin trying to find something for me on the menu that was allergen-free...I don't think I've repeated my allergies in one setting more often than this one tonight....it was slightly embarassing.

Afterward, my boss, Heather, announced to everyone that we are all getting raises. Right on.

Oh! and with the gift exchange I came home with handsoap. Now, if that doesn't make your night, I don't know what could.

Just in case I hadn't worked for Intermountain Health Care enough times, I officially began the third time today. Actually, truth be told, I was hired almost 2 months ago, but wasn't able to start until now.

I am working in the Logan Regional Hospital's Child Development Center. Basically, I play with the hospital employees' children and get paid for it. I made all sorts of new friends today, and a few of them will not be leaving me alone anytime soon. It's pretty funny.

I was hired on prn (on call), but today, they told me that they want me to work every day that I can. So far as I know, I will be working from 3-6 every weekday. This enables me to work 3x as much as I was previously, while still allowing me to work at my other job, running price quotes for Architectural Detail. I will also have plenty of time to do homework and such, and will never have to work weekends or holidays.

Yay for paying tithing!
