A few weeks ago we took a spur of the moment trip to Natural Bridges. It was pretty, but Dax fell asleep just before we got there, so we just got to take turns checking out the lookouts while he slept. He woke back up just in time to stop at the visitor's center on the way out.
On the way down, we opted to take a short hike to see some Indian ruins that were marked on the highway. Dax was so happy to get out of the car, he didn't seem to mind the backpack.
At the entrance/exit of the park, there was the option to go right or to go left at the T intersection. The city of Blanding was 40-something miles to the left, and Lake Powell as 40-something miles to the right. I had been "hinting" the whole trip that we ought to go to the Lake, and as we were leaving the park, Robbie hesitated at the stop. He asked if we would get divorced if he headed left instead of right.
I have to admit, I was a little sad as we turned left back to Blanding, and ultimately home to Moab. But hey, we had to go home sometime, right? :(

Tonight, and Other Nights....
As promised, here are some "finished" pictures of the house....or maybe just Dax's room for now....

The Christmas Season began with a bang on Wednesday, when IT SNOWED IN MOAB!We went into Arches to take pictures....
and found our friends Stefanie and Brady doing the very same thing.

Daxson kept himself busy with his dump truck driving up and down his leg, and across his belly, sometimes even giving him big kisses on his cheek and forehead!

Later that day, we bundled up and jumped in the back of Stef and Brady's truck and headed into the LaSalles. It was gorgeous! We drove up to Lake Oowah and took some pictures.

Dax had a good time until he put his hand in the powder, then decided that he hates the snow and cold.
He proceeded to snuggle with his daddy for a few minutes afterward.

This one's for my mommy....she painted the little chair for me when I was a toddler,
and made this Carebear for me too.
My little man loves them both now!

What We've Been Up To:
We had a family dinner the weekend Robbie and I cleaned out our home in Centerville for the last time (it's still up for rent....let us know if you know anyone!). The grandparents decided to group everyone together for a grandkid picture, and here are the results:
We especially like the exchange between sweet Mills and Dax. HA!

Sometimes "daddy" likes to spin his little man around like he's throwing a discus. This is what Dax's face looks like at the end of the spin.
My dad and mom, me, Dax, and Robbie at Balanced Rock in Arches. This is where we sat to eat our subs.
Riding on PaPa's back to find the dinosaur tracks.
PaPa watching Dax play with his new toys (more to come on that later).
Ok, so I'm a bad mom. The other day, I was working on the house, and Dax climbed underneath me as I stepped, and I stepped right on his little finger with the heel of my shoe. I felt like such a bad mom! Luckily he's healing just fine, and a bottle of chocolate milk, a bit of snuggle time, and a bandaid later, and he was off to play again!
The pinched finger. It's quite the blood blister!
So sad.
PaMa and PaPa gave Dax this fun little frog puppet with googley eyes. He has a fun tongue that sticks way out. Our sweet, teething son thought it would be just the thing to soothe his poor gums. We didn't have the heart to stop him from making out with the frog.
Again. He. Kills. Me.
more to come....our house is almost done, and I'll post some pics!
