We had another appointment with Machel yesterday, and here are the results:

This is our little Dax's belly and heartbeat. His little head is still lodged quite low, so his legs and arms have a lot more room to wiggle than his head, but maybe one day he'll get bored down there and move. The larger spikes in the heartbeat (shown toward the bottom of the picture) are actually hiccups (seems like he's taking after mommy on that one!).

This is a 4-D picture of his face. It's not as clear as it could be, again because he insists on being squashed so far down, but you can see the eyes, nose and mouth pretty clearly. It looks like his little hand is up by his face, and you can see his belly toward the bottom (he's right in the middle of the picture).

Pretty clear shot that he is indeed a "he." Robbie and Uncle Matt both wanted Machel to measure it.....
Anyway, that's our little baby! It's starting to get more exciting, but still slightly surreal. Though it's been a rough pregnancy for me so far, my heart aches for the people I know that have had struggles to get or stay pregnant. You are in our prayers!

He looks adorable!:) It is hard to not dwell on how hard things are at the moment but sometimes the only way I get through them is also realizing that some women can't have children at all. This thought process does not solve my want for complaint but it helps me keep most things in perspective. Good for you to realize it early on. I'm sorry things are hard - it will be over before you know it. Hang in there!
So cute! Isn't it amazing??? It truly is a miracle. I can't already tell he is cute! (:
Wow that is so awesome! And the fact he had hiccups is soo cute. I hope you start feeling better soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
That is so cool, ultrasound pictures seem to be getting better and better as time goes. Some of my friends ultrasounds weren't that clear like your 4-d pictures.
This is so fun! I'm so excited for you...and slightly jealous :) Dumb question...but where are you guys living right now? P.S. I'm so glad we have our blogs to keep in touch!
karlee, we're in Logan.
So this midwife thing seems not so bad! I have had one ultrasound from my doctor and it is because I asked and told him I didn't know how far I was so he should look at the baby. The other one is from my sister sneaking me in to her hospital. You have had two now, so lucky. It is so cute to watch them move. I love seeing my baby kick and jump and what not. They are amazing.
p.s. the only reason I have a rap song on my blog is because Travis Barker made an amazing drum set to it. That is all.
midwives are DEFINITELY the way to go! i don't regret it for anything....we actually have three ultrasounds already. we have one everytime we go in. i LOVE it.
ps....it was a joke about the rap thing....i just laughed because it was playing as i was reading about horton hears a who. love ya!
carly...you're ultrasounds are so fun! i wish that we could have one each time! how funny that he was hiccuping!... and your pregnant belly is adorable! you have the cutest clothes to accent it :)
see you at work sometime!
p.s. heath does know dennis and deann...they are his dad's cousins. his best friend in high school was their daughter denise (also his cousin). he said you should consider yourself lucky to be aquainted with them.
