Wow. Really?

I had an overwhelming desire for some carbonation earlier today, so I asked Robbie if we could scrounge up our pennies and run to Mooch's (a gas station here in Logan). He agreed, and we pulled together all our change and headed off.  We filled up our fountain drinks (they had Coke Zero on tap!) and set them up on the counter to pay for them.  The cost?  $1.90.  Robbie pulled out his change and set down ten dimes on the counter.  I had quarters, so I handed the cashier four of them, and took back one dime.
Make sense so far?  It did to us.

The cashier (who was NOT blonde, by the way....) promptly counted the change and said, "You are a dime short."  Robbie scanned the change on the counter and made some sort of noise.  Giving the cashier the benefit of the doubt, I handed back the dime I took from the counter.  She typed in a few buttons on the register, opened the drawer, dumped the change in, and said, "Ten cents is your change" as she pulled a different dime out of the drawer and gave it to me.

We looked at each other in shock and left the gas station.  As soon as the door closed behind us, we burst out laughing.

Simply stunning.
