GRE/HOF

Have I mentioned that my husband is amazing?

I won't bore you with gory details, but here's the truth: I am so impressed with him. We officially got back his GRE scores last week, and he passed, studying for ONE WEEK! Taking the practice tests, he was really worried, because he consistently scored far too low for passing, but on the actual exam, the crazy kid knocked his score up a whopping 200+ points, putting him much farther into the passing range than he ever thought he would!

He's incredible.

Also, this past month, he was inducted into the Davis High Track and Field Hall of Fame (DHSTFHOF???). He literally has a little cult following of some of the track kids, it's funny. He has groupies! Really. I'm serious. You should hear these kids when he goes to help coach. I love it! This is what his coach had to say (with side comments from me in perentheses):

There was no sign of any greatness in Robbie's first year of throwing the discus at Davis High. By the end of his sophomore season, his personal record was 100 feet, a modest distance. Because of his slight build, it was even suggested that he switch to being a distance runner. However, Robbie persisted, training and throwing on is own, year-round. He capped off his senior year as the 5A State Champion throwing 168' 3", all while weighing less than 160 pounds. He is the only known high school athlete to throw farther in feet than he weighed in pounds. Robbie went on to throw at SUU (and WSU) until knee problems forced him to give up competitive throwing. He has continued demonstrating his love of the sport by coaching several Davis High athletes to become State Champions in the discus and shot put (nearly every athlete he has trained has gone on to receive college scholarships, partially due to his help and training). Robbie is a great example of what can happen when an athlete has self-motivation, dedication, a desire to excel, and perseverance.
This is Robbie receiving his plaque from Corbin Talley, the current Davis High Head Track Coach.

I wish that we were able to have him coach full-time. He truly loves it, and honestly, is really good at it. When he's out there in the ring, he is in his element. I feel so blessed to have him forever. He is such a great example to me. I love you, baby!

Awesome! Way to pick a good one. :) There are several things that Chris is good enough at that he could quit his job... if only those things brought in some big bucks (which we don't have, even now).... someday! Congrats, Robbie. That is so cool.
