He Speaks!
As cute as my young son is, he's always been a bit stubborn. From his labor and birth, to where, when, and what he wants to eat, to a whole host of other things. I don't know where he got it from (feigned confused face).
So it was with the words he would speak. We would get on occasional "da-da", an even less-occasional "ma-ma", "de-de" (thank you), and a few others. However, he was never lacking with his "NO, Ma-Ma!", "uh-oh" or "car". So though we knew he had a whole host of other words in his vocabulary, he would communicate only with grunts and throwing things.
Not my favorite plan.
Well, two days ago, he suddenly began to speak! Not yet in complete sentences, but he has added a whole bunch of words he has rarely or never said before. Hallelujah!
We now commonly hear: "Car-ee" (Carly--Thanks Daddy!), "eat", "drink", "bye", "please", "more", "down", "why", "belly", "baby", "tee-s" (teeth), "'sye!" (outside) and a few others. He will now actually repeat words when we say them instead of staring at us like we were comic relief and laughing hysterically.
With a boy who will only do things on his own time....I fear the future could be a bit scary for us. But maybe by then, he'll be able to speak....even if we don't want to hear what he has to say.

Keagan is the same way! Very stubborn and on his own time. I have learned just let him do it on his own time and he will do it amazing, and keep it up. I think it is a blessing. Because if you just don't force things, and let them decide, they will make up their mind and go with it. I was scared to get rid of the binki, so I let him decide, and it was gone overnight. Same with potty training, I let him decide and in 2 days he did it. :) Go Daxinator!! I can't wait to give you hugs when we come out!
What a fun thing! Boys are so funny with their words, sometimes Peter will go a whole week or two refusing to say one or two of his common words and then suddenly have it again. It's fun to hear all your updates!
Can't wait to hear his little voice.:) When will we see you next?
It's so cute hearing them talk! These little ones are seriously so smart.
I just love that kid! We need to get together so he and Stockton can "talk" up a storm together!
