Robbie's Birthday

Robbie's birthday was a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, he had to work on the actual day, so we celebrated the day before he officially turned 26 (I don't think he was mad about that).
I had purchased his real gift a few weeks prior, and after I bought it, we had a whole bunch of unexpected expenses that made it seem impossible to get him what he really wanted.  He finally told me that he wanted a knife (big surprise!) that he had been oogling over for about a year now.  So, we planned a trip to Grand Junction, Colorado that day to get him the knife.  He figured that the whole day would be his gift, since he figured he already knew what he was getting.

That morning (May 20), he found his first clue for the scavenger hunt I had planned.  I sent him all over town (with us in the car, of course) to get drinks, gas, treats, a movie for later, etc., and always, his next clue.  We finally made it to Grand Junction, ate lunch, and continued on the hunt, all the while thinking that the end result would be a knife.

Finally, we made it to Sportsman's Warehouse, and I send Robbie in to get the knife, since Dax was getting fussy, he and I waited in the car, hoping he'd fall asleep.  Much to Robbie's surprise, he returned with the knife and ANOTHER CLUE!  It sent him to the back of the 4Runner where he discovered this:
He was pretty shocked as I took the knife away and told him that it would be saved for later.

Needless to say, he was pretty excited about it.  That made me smile.
