Festivus

Christmas Eve was spent at my parents' house as usual. We really enjoyed this year's rendition of the Nativity, as it was presented entirely by children ten and under. Dax starred as the cutest baby Jesus we have ever seen. Tyler played Joseph, and didn't want to let the little man go. He was so cute with him. In the picture below, Tyler is on my lap, and Dax is in Tyler's.
Christmas morning, we woke up and had breakfast/opened gifts with my parents. This is Dax's first game of catch with his Daddy. He was much more interested in eating the ball then throwing it back. ...eh. It'll come.
My parents gave Dax a stuffed hippo, and he loved it! He snuggled, and snuggled, and burrowed his face in it...
It was a lot of fun to see them. We love you, mom and dad!
This Christmas Day, we spent most of it with Robbie's Family. Robbie's aunt Ann was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has been undergoing chemo treatments for a few months now. As our family's service project this year, we (moreso others) got together and made a handprint quilt with all of Robbie's family for Ann to have. Dax's handprint turned out slightly more like a small hoofprint, but it was the best we could do when we tried to open his hand against his will. Either way, the quilt turned out really neat, and as you can tell from the picture below, quite emotional for all of us (and adorably, including Robbie).
Dax loved the gifts he got for Christmas. He is just now showing an interest in toys and such, and it is so much fun! He will burrow his face into the stuffed animals and giggle. It's freaking hilarious. Robbie's mom crochets frogs for all the grandkids: this is Dax's Kermie. After getting a good look at it, Dax decided he really loved it. This one is called a Zoobie Pet: it's a stuffed animal, pillow, and a blanket all in one. It's awe-some. As you can see by the pictures, Dax adores his Zoobie.

One of his other favorite things is his new playmat. We had been borrowing one from my sister, and he didn't seem to have much interest in it. His attention span never lasted more than five minutes, but with this one, it's lasted up to an hour. It's really cute.
Anyway, it was a good time had by all. We really had a great time with family and friends. We feel so blessed to have such a great family and to be able to be so close to them all.
